Aberdeen Proving Ground has three fitness facilities:

Hoyle Fitness Center

Mon - Fri 5 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sat, Sun, Holidays 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Each facility has a large basketball/volleyball court area, racquetball courts, fitness areas, free weight room and locker and shower areas, some with saunas and steam rooms. Both gymnasiums have a wide variety of sports equipment for checkout, including racquetball equipment, jump ropes, and indoor & outdoor practice balls!

Each facility has a wide variety of cardiovascular equipment, to include aerobic bicycles, stair climbers, treadmills, and cross country ski & rowing machines! Each has a variety of free and circuit weight machines!

Additional Facilities
Tennis Courts
There are seven courts available for play in the Aberdeen Area: three (lighted) in the 3300 block. Five courts are located in the Edgewood Area: two in the E4100 block and three in the E4600 block.

Fitness Paths
We now have two fitness paths in the Aberdeen Area (Plumb Point area and Fanshaw Field area) and one in the Edgewood area around the airfield.

Multi-Purpose Athletic Fields

Fields are located in both the Aberdeen (3300 block) and Edgewood Areas (E4100 block). Fields are lighted and are used for softball, soccer and flag football.

Patrons Authorized to Use Facilities
· Active duty military personnel and their families
· Members of Reserve Components (RC) on annual training
· Retired military personnel and their families (included RC with pay)
· Cadets of military academies
· DOD NAF/APF civilian employees (includes AAFES and their families)
· DOD contractor employees

General Policies
· Athletic bags cannot be stored in the exercise equipment areas or around cardiovascular equipment due to safety and crowded conditions. Bags must be stored in lockers.
· During peak participation times or when individuals are waiting to use cardiovascular exercise, there is a 20-minute time limit on each piece of equipment.
· Patrons using the center are required to scan in using a valid military/DOD identification card upon entry.
· Eye protection is required by all patrons when playing racquetball or handball.
